ISO5801 Fan Pressure Flow Measurement System (or AMCA210)

Characteristics

  • Flow rate
  • Pressure (total and static)
  • rpm
  • Electrical power, voltage and current
  • Measurement of torque absorbed by the fan (fluid dynamic efficiency)
  • Tests at constant rpm and constant duty cycle (for brushless motors)
  • Standardized measurements in accordance with ISO5801. Adjustable power supply: single-phase 120-230V, three-phase 230-500V, 50 and 60Hz.
  • Connection with performance simulation software

Customer Needs

Have a laboratory bench to characterize brushless fans and combustion systems, i.e. fan + mixer + gas valve, simulating the real conditions of use in the boiler, evaluating the fluid dynamic efficiency and that of the electric motor

Solution

A test bench was built to measure multiple, simultaneous measurements of fan air flow and gas flow.
An external drive allows the fluid dynamic efficiency of fans or systems to be characterized.
A simulation software has been developed that, by taking as input the torque produced by alternative (or simulated) engines, allows the performance prediction of virtual prototypes; Tests can be run automatically or manually.
