Customer needs
The client is a leading manufacturer of automotive transmissions. It requires compliance with many of its customers’ specifications, including test temperature ranges, speed-versus-time profiles, and pulley inertia.
Solution
We developed a custom test bench integrated with a climate chamber. The mechanical and control solutions were preliminarily developed with dynamic and structural simulations. Some highly dynamic tests required the development of a custom electric brake to meet the specifications (e.g., to stop pulleys and belts in a few milliseconds).
