Customer needs
The client is a laboratory for a major certification body. Their requirement is a mobile test bench capable of supporting motorcycles and ATVs during EMC testing, applying 6kW of power (at 50km/h) on rollers (simulating a straight path on two or four wheels).
After the test, the device must be easily removable from the anechoic chamber. The test bench must be designed to allow easy access for scooters, ATVs, and motorcycles. Only optical sensors for speed measurement are permitted.
Solution
We developed a custom test bench with adjustable wheelbase. The front and rear rollers are mechanically interconnected, and the self-supporting wheels are mounted on pneumatically operated arms, meeting all required specifications. The cooling fan is pneumatically operated.
