Multifunctional end-of-line measurement and control system for electric motors

Characteristics
- Electrical safety testing (HV, insulation resistance, ground wire)
- Winding resistance test
- Surge test
- Measurement of electrical parameters on all gears
- Two-axis vibration test with suspended seismic mass cradle
- RPM measurement by vibration
- Check direction of rotation
- variac (optional PLC controlled power source)
- Manual selection of start capacitor (automatic selection optional)
- Double station
- Test time 8..10 seconds
Customer Needs
Conduct all electrical safety, quality, and performance tests with a single fixture and in the shortest possible time.
Solution
A dual-station test rig with non-simultaneous operation was built. Each station features a motor cradle with a seismic mass, equipped with non-contact rotation sensors and two uniaxial accelerometers . A rack column houses all the instrumentation, the PC, and the electrical components. The vibration test involves the selection of up to six vibration performance criteria, both at steady state and during the transient shutdown. Information on the engine rotation speed is extracted from the vibration signal. I4.0 System
